Six wood-panelled cottages on a 32-acre hilltop estate, with Kodaikanal lake waiting outside your window.
There's nowhere quite like it in Kodaikanal. Here's what makes this hill ours, and soon, a little bit yours.
The Sivaganga Estate was one of the very first homes built in Kodaikanal, and it still belongs to the royal family of Sivaganga. We get to share 32 acres of it with you.
No corridors, no reception queue. Six independent cottages, each with its own balcony and its own patch of quiet.
Coconut-palm timber in one, pine in another. Walls, floors and ceilings are all wood-panelled, so each cottage feels, and even smells, a little different.
Lie back in bed and Kodaikanal lake is right there, with the hills folding away behind it. Most mornings arrive wrapped in mist.
Our cook makes home food the way you like it, and brings it to your door. Breakfast is on the house; the rest is a conversation.
The estate has kennels, stables and acres of open grass. Bring your own four-legged family. They're as welcome here as you are.
Reserved forest wraps around the estate. Watch for bison at dusk, Malabar squirrels in the canopy, the shy barking deer, and more birds than we can name.
Horse rides, forest walks and cycling by day. A crackling bonfire under a sky full of stars by night.
We're the only stay in Kodaikanal with a helicopter landing pad. Most guests arrive by car, but it's nice to know it's there.
Panelled top to toe in coconut-palm timber, with a balcony that looks straight at the lake. A honeymooners' favourite.
